Caterham type rear and panhard rod.
Hi all,
I am planning to deviate from the Champion book rear chassis design. I would like to make RU1&2 horizontal, with a kick up behind X2. I think this
might give me a problem with the panhard rod moving further off the horizontal.
Does anyone have an advice or helpful pictures?
Thanks, Andrew.

I would do the same thing you are thinking. Much nicer look.
My panhard is mounted even with the bottom of the chassis - and those tubes get in the way. If I ran them horizontally, as you're thinking, it
would have been a lot easier, though the bar would have to be a touch higher to clear.
A solid axle Lotus has the rear roll center mounted quite low, too.

Be aware fitting the pahard rod so low will lower the rear roll centre.
