Hi
I spent about £120 for the chassis tubes
6off 25x25 and 4off19x19 plus a couple of lengths of 3mm and 5mm flat
I have also spent another £100 for all the other flat plate, 1mm, 3mm, 5mm, 10mm.
I over bought on this so I dont run out.
Total so far £220, excluding the roll bar tube and alloy for the floor etc.

Get in touch with Adrian Reeve (on here) as he's looking into doing a group buy of pre cut steel for about £200 (which I think is quite good
value)

I'm surprised how often this question comes up. To me, it's like buying a 3-piece suit and shoes and asking how much shoe laces cost.
Steel for the entire project is a very small part, perhaps even the cheapest major "component" of the entire build.

But equally, if there's some where that's £20 cheaper just down the road, and you now know this, that's most of a night down the
pub.

Very good point!
Hey, way off topic, but I'm curious. Here in Southern California, a pint of Guiness is about US$2 in the supermarket, about one British Pound.
Having never been to your great country, how much is Guiness in the market?

It's about the same really, about a quid a can. Although I'd be willing to bet it doesn't taste the same! Do you get Guinness
Original out there?
