Powder coat with heat gun

I need to do a significant amount of touch up to my chassis due to lots of recent welding. It looks terrible at the moment and taking the engine out to redo is out of the question. Rather than use the enamel again, (which scratches and fades easily) I was going to have another go at powdercoating the parts that need doing. I have used a heat gun with mixed results on small pieces.

Has anyone used one on a chassis with any success? The problem with the Powdercoating in general is the heating afterwards, which has to be even and a certain temp (400 fahrenheit - I'm a good speller, eh?)

WELLLLL! I guess I'll let everyone know how it goes!!! My frame looks like sh***te at the moment so I have nothing to lose.

Meanwhile, I can't recommend enough the "vinyl on ally" solution for people too lazy and neat to paint. It's never perfect but better than my painting. I even have a nice couple of stripes on my back interior panel now. Pics when in car - painting chassis to do first.
