this is what i bought for mine and i had enough to do the job with enough spare to make odds and sods

6 lengths of 1"x1" 16swg box section
2 lengths of 3/4"x3/4" 16swg box section
2 lengths of 3/4" 16swg round tube

each length was 6 metres, so thats 36 metres of 1"x1", 12 metres of 3/4"x3/4" box and 12 metres of 3/4" tube

total cost was circa £45 including delivery and VAT

Thanks very much, £45 seems very reasonable. where did you buy it and do they deliver long distance.

Lewis, where about in Fife are you?

Your best bet is probably Legge Steel in Kirkcaldy who I bought some steel off last weekedn ad were both reasonable and helpful. There used to be Tayside metals in Cowdenbeath who had a massive aount of steel in stock but they moved.

Other than that your best bet will be places in Edinburgh. I wouldnt ask about dlivery from anywhere in England for example as they simply wont do it.

Hope this helps
Mark

Also, get a half length of 50mmx4mm RHS for making suspension brackets, bending ally, frightening small children etc. See if they will include a load of 3mm plate offcuts - you will use a few

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Where in Dunfermline??

I have sent a u2u (centre of screen at the top).

I will be getting more steel soon for my floor, so could pick you some up if transport is a problem.
