wishbone brackets

ive just discovered that all my wishbone brackets i spent two days making are too small and the powerflex bushes dont fit in.

ive made them exactly to the book plans and the width between the two inner faces is 42mm but the bush tubes are longer so dont fit.

im not in the frame if mind now to make another set, so where can you buy them from? i remember seeing sets on ebay but cant find any on there now.

ive looked in the haynes roadster book and they are 44mm inner dimension so think these would be better for me if i can get them.

What about getting some box section, drlling the holes then slicing off a face, prob the one with the weld on? Thats what I'd do if I had to make mine again. Just a thought.

Regards

Rich

Not quite sure I understand? I'm talking about the tubes welded onto the ends of your wishbones that you press the bushes into. Obviously the central crush tube would also need to be adjusted.

dont you have to leave a section of the bush tube sticking out either end?

ohhh i get you now!

i think maybe by taking a mm off the crush tube may make it work, dont really want to touch the wishbones as they are powdercoated.

For the brackets I had a U-profile made from 3mm steel plate by a local machine shop. Costs next to nothing because they only have to cut on guillotine and fold twice. Couple of minutes work.

As for your problem: like above. Shorten crushtube and polybush to fit your brackets.
