I've jus got Bill Adair (Irelands MK
Agent) to order my kit.
But i havent even got my donor car yet
So will i hav to send the donor parts away afterwards to be modified? Do i get

It'd be best if you could get a donor ASAP. I gave him all my stuff at the start - worked out OK. I don't know how he'd be with
not having the donor parts for collection. I can't imagine he'd get that worked up tho'!
I suspect you are snookered on the steering rack - as far as I'm aware the is still no sign of Quaife producing these (anyone know any
different?).
Out of interest how long did Bill give you as a waiting time?

I'd take Bill's schedules with a hefty pinch of salt. He's a nice guy and as honest as the day is long but he has kept me waiting
at every turn of my build!
I'd guess you might have the kit by September!

Where did you get the radiator from? They're starting to get thin on the ground in NI. Also what diff are you gonna use? And are you going
for drums or discs at the back?

Got the radiator from belfast car dismantlers (i think). They might hav some more. There was also a daihatsui (think thts spelt wrong) charade
radiator pretty much the same. The donor is a sierra 1.8 petrol, with drums (unfortunately), not really sure wat the diff is, but im hoping its under
3.5. Waitin on parts being delivered now
Cheers

Just be careful of the diff ratio - it could badly affect your gearing. You don't want a car that tops out at 90mph. That in itself
isn't that big a problem, but that means to do 60 you'll be sitting at 8000rpm in top gear! Doesn't make for relaxed cruising.
The diff issue has be debated to death on here - have a wee search about - also it's worth getting speedcalc.xls and doing some calculations
with tyre size and so on.

Yeah, was on carfolio and the sierra 1.8 diesel has a 3.38 diff. Wud this b ok to use or are the diesel diffs different? (stupid question but hey)

Back in the early days, I looked into the 1.8 TD, all the diffs I checked were 3.92
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

One other tip do try to get the half shafts that came with the diff as they are not always interchangable (I have a 3.62 diff and a 3.38 - but the
3.62 half shafts will not fit the 3.38 - that's why I used the 3.62 in the end.)
