if you are not careful you get a 1 inch banana effect along the chassis from front to back
weld the floor intermittently in opposing diagonal places or the floor will bow and ping
the front suspesnion mounts in the book are positioned wrongly for the wishbones specified

Step 1:
Download an accurate chassis plan/cutting list from
http://www.mcsorley.net
The book list is bollocks!

Also beware of advice from anyone with high post counts....
What can they know if they are always online?....

true
anyone over 200 or so should be ignored!
After all, how many questions can there be to answer or ask about the cars!

Just relax, take your time... use the McSorley plans... measure twice, cut once... don't be afraid to grind away crappy welds...
Just about covers everything!
Happy building!
David
P.S. set yourself realistic timescales...

Just relax, take your time...
I like that one - 18 months, and I'm STILL going!!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

The really irritating thing is that I had the chassis done in about 5 days!! I thought another couple of month and I'll have it cracked
