Aussie triangles???
Hi Guys,
Once the 'summer' is over I plan on keeping myself busy by changing from a Pinto to a Zetec for my book built Locost Seven (independent
rear suspension). The engine is pretty much ready to go and I don't foresee it taking a huge amount of time to complete the change so...
While the car is between engines I would like to see if there is any scope to strengthen the chassis and wondered if anyone could point me in the
direction of where would be good places to add triangles to improve rigidity. By rigidity I mean stiffness to improve handling rather than safety.
At the moment I get the feeling that if I were to add say another 50bhp and stick some wider/stickier tyres on, the chassis would struggle to keep up.
Probably not explaining this particularly well...
I understand extra triangles are added as a matter of course in Australia to pass IVA (or their equivalent) but cannot find any plans online. Also I
am not sure whether this would improve handling as well as safety??
If anyone has any other locost suggestions for improving rigidity then please feel free to chip in...
Thanks, David.

I'd be looking at the pictures on the website of a well respected racing Locost manufacturer.
Google LA Gold.

As tim said have a look at an LA gold. I converted a 750 MC locost race car to 2 litre zetec and it was inadequate.
I competed against an LA gold anr it was far more advanced although I did beat it over a season :-)

That's fake, there's no Australian women that look like that, the weathers crap and the beer's horrible, getting the Roo's off
the drive each morning is a PITA and there's a reason the authorities insist on tank-like strength in cars.
Best stay where you are.
