T45 Tube suppliers and prices

Have been sniffing round the tinterweb this morning trying to establish the best place/price to source T45 tube for a roll cage.
Will have a phone round next week, but does anyone have an idea of the going price for 32mm dia x 2mm wall T45.

Have seen some eye watering prices quoted online £30 odd quid + a meter etc. Then i stumbled on this post on an aviation forum
which if accurate cheered me up no end.

There is no problem getting T45 in the UK, Winged Aviation 0044 1604 670810
have recently supplied various sizes for my Hurricane, ´

2" 14 SWG £5.33 metre
1.25" 20 SWG £4.84 metre
1" 20 SWG £5.16 metre
1.5" 16 SWG £4.01 Metre.

We've ordered it as premium grade T45 and subsequent resting has shown it to be in excess of T50.Problem is their minimum order is one length (5.5m ).

I have a variety of lengths and sizes spare if you get stuck ,

There's a company called Freeman & Proctor in Nuneaton who used to make T45 roll-cages for Lotus (they are Aero spec pipe-benders).
Might be worth giving them a call to see if they will supply either tubing or make you a cage.
HTH.
Cheers, Pewe

Hi

I take it if you are going to use T45 for your roll cage you ARE going to heat treat it after being welded. ?

Cheers Matt

Hi Matt
I don't think thin walled T45 needs post weld heat treatment if TIG welded with the correct filler material (A15 or A18 rods)
