How to weld ends of tubes to wishbone plates?

Thinking of having a crack at making my own bones along the same lines as the GTS ones, so the plate is welded to the "inside" of the tubes rather than top or bottom.

The edge is straightforward, but what about the ends?

1) crush the ends flat in a vice and butt weld to the plate.. weakens the tube?

2) weld a flat plate cap on the tube and weld to that - dodgy ascii art: ==|- stresses in the wrong directions?

3) cut a pointy V on the end of the tube, weld two angled plates to it, weld that to plate: ==>- overkill?

4) something else?

Hi

On a car like a seven the suspension is so
"visible" that, IMHO, nothing can be classed as overkill.
It does "stand out like a dog's b*lls.
