Typical box section sizes
Hey, I need to do some small chassis mods so need some new box sections. It looks like the outer box is 25x25mm and the inner tunnel is 20x20mm but
what thicknesses would they be?
I have found 1.7mm and 2mm or does it not really make a huge difference? It's the 20mm stuff I need. About 1M I'd say. What do you think?

1" tube sizes are usually 25.4mm square 1.626mm wall thickness or 25mm square, 1.5mm wall (imperial / metric)
3/4" tube sizes are usually 19.01mm square 1.626mm wall thickness or 19mm square, 1.5mm wall (imperial / metric)
There's usually no need for thicker material than this, unless you have a monster engine or an unusual design. You have to be more specific if
you want a more specific answer.

I was looking on eBay for the box section and they seemed to be 1.7 or 2mm thickness and 20 or 25mm dimensions. i guess that its metric an i need, or
may need the inperial sizes. I will cut a bit out and measure the thickness.

I have a 2m length of 20mm box section coming. I think it's 2mm but its free so I can't complain.

I'm at Dursley, Gloucestershire. I should have enough for what I need anyway. Well hopefully anyway.

Does anyone know where I can get some of the box section for the headlights to sit in? It's 25x19 (1"x3/4" I think but has rounded
corners so almost oval. More streamlined I guess.
Don't know if you can make it out in this picture?
