Pressure to bend 3mm plate
I am looking for a small diy press to bend some 3mm steel plate. Machine mart do a 1/2T and 1T unit that looks like what i am after. Would either of
these bend 3mm plate? Thinking that maybe the 1/2T version maay not be man enough?

Depends how wide the plate is and how tight a radius you want on the bend.

how long is the bend length, if it is just 20mm wide say it could be done in a vice..

50mm wide, right angle bend and about 50mm on each side of bend.

sounds like a job that I might do one off using a vice and the largest adjustable spanner that I own,... if there are a few
I would make a small fixture,. and if there were a few dozen, then I might buy a press or ask a friend...

Probably about 50 it's for an art project (don't ask!) so think the press may be a good idea just woried the 1/2t may be a bit weedy

I would pop down to the local metal folding place and buy a long length of folded steel plate then chop into 50mm wide sections, you will get a nice
repeatable finish, bashing and pushing in a vice and small press is hard work!

I would ask a local press shop, especially if you want them all to look exactly the same - and artisitic

I always thought this was a neat idea for small stuff as long as you have a heavy duty vice

how about buying a length of 50x50x3 angle, and chopping it to to 50mm lengths in a chop saw?
