Footwell Steel Plate Thickness.

Hi,

I'm building up the footwell in my Fury to fit an OBP pedal box. It's currently the older open top mk2 escort footwell and I need weld a plate over the top to attach the OBP box to and weld in a plate to add some stiffness to where the cylinders poke through.

Would 2mm plate be about right? The current footwell might as well be gold leaf and were known to flex, hence the question.

Cheers
Jon

Should be good enough. My pedal box front is reinforced with a piece of angle welded across on the inside just above the m/cylinders. This was a mod' done by KitCarWorkshop after several failed SVA due to it flexing. The later floor mount pedal box has an open top with just an ally plate over it.
Top plate here...

Thanks, I was looking at a floor mounted option but this Fury has the really narrow sloping footwell and I don't reckon it'll fit.

I'll go will the 2mm.
