Mc sorely +4
Is the +4 only wider from the scuttle area back and if so are there any disadvantages to leaving the front track as std and using std bones etc.
Should have said i want to use a 52" axle.

Body work will be the problem, GTS are now doing +4" bodywork to suit the Mc sorley so make it as per the drawings....makes life easier.

surely only the scuttle is the problem if you are making your own side panels and bonnet.

not if its only wider from the scuttle back. I am having real probs here trying to decide what to go for a std book a +4 or a +442. At the moment a
xflow would be my choice but what if after its completed i wnt a 16v xe.

You can get either engine in a book chassis... so i wouldn't worry too much about choosing between the 2

36 inch waist and slightly fatter arse but it fits in a kart seat LOL just. I was only asking to be considerate to the missus but on a serious
note how wide is it from the tunnel to the side how big a choice of seats are there (getting a bit out of this section now )

If going wider, stick to adding 4" down the middle and not just in the cockpit

Look at the McSorley website for details of the differences between the 7+4 and the 7+442. I am building the 7+4 and it is simply a book chassis with
an extra 4" added right down the full length of the chassis. The 7+442 is designed to use a standard nosecone and you'd be best to read
Jim McSorley's website for exact details of this.

Cheers jestre She ain't keen but its gonna happen. Its just a matter of time. I have not got a lot of room and 2 cars already one of them a v6
omega 1998 with a gen 40000 miles that is minted trouble is i won't get near what i reckon its worth so untill it dies i'll have to 2wait.

I, personally, am seriously considering a custom chassis: +4 width +2 length. The 4" increase in width will be straight down the center. The
+2" in length will be split: one inch added to the engine bay and one inch added to the cockpit. I plan on running extra rails for side impact
protection.

The GTS W7DE is +4 wider down the whole length of the chassis.
We are prepared to make custom mods to this if required, ie, make the cockpit longer etc.
The bodywork will be available as a full 10 piece kit, but obviously from that you can choose to have only the scuttle and nose if you wish.

TRhanks for all the input folks the only thing that does concern me about a
+4 would be the availability of a windscreen which will prob be a must for the missus.

I can do +4" wider windscreens and the range of other parts to suit.

Glass is £55 cut to size.
Frame is £28, and uprights and £22
