Steering column clearance

Managed to get the steering column this weekend but it is very close to the FU upright and has about 3mm clearance, is that enough with regards to SVA?

Building: It is an ex-Locost - it has gone to the IOW!

Both ends are fixed within the chassis, so as long as all bits of the column (e.g. UJs) stay clear then there should be no problem.
