Hi newbie Questions
Hi im new on here. Im planning on building my self a 7 replica spaced out over a year and was wanting some advice.
Im a laser profiler by trade as well as a welder so building a chassis wont really be a problem for me but what i was wondering is there any mods
that can be made to the ron champion design to make it any better as ive head a few bad things about them. do you have any hints or tips for starting
my build that may make it easer?
Thanks Craig.

Look for the "mcsorley" plans on the web, they have accurate measurements and cutting lists.
Also search the forums for "castor" stuff to do with the front suspension geometry, you will want to change the design of your top
wishbone probably..
then have a look for cymtriks' mods to improve stiffness..
there are plenty of tweaks to be made, make it your own

Firstly welcome to the asylum, you will find loads of info & help here.
Re the build, do the job properly & build something mid-engined!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Thanks for the replys.
Hoping to build a locost with a 2.0 zetec mated to a type 9 box and de-dion rear setup. Im wanting to keep the car as simple as possible no
heater, wipers, washers, windscreen just very basic as it will be used as a toy only.

Hi Craig.
Judging by your other posts I detect a little bit of forward planning. Top marks.
So many people start by building a book chassis and then a few months down the line
start asking questions like, "Will a **** engine fit a book chassis?"
If I may be so bold can I suggest a thought or two on bodywork, assuming you intend to buy it.
Again, I see posts where people have problems getting say, a bonnet to fit over a tall engine.
Anyway, good luck with the build.

Welcome Another mod you may want to consider is to put some antidive into the front suspension.
And then of courrse there is the rear suspension IRS, Live axle or De Deon
as indicated before they are all in previous threads so just make sure you can use the search facility and all will be revealed. Happy reading

Another welcome. Try this website, as many of the articles are relevant to what you're asking.
Many of the mods are simple to do, and if going for a low(er) power engine, some may not really be necessary anyways, it's somewhat up to you on
how far you wish to go. Good luck all the same!
