Wishbone mounting brackets
I was just wondering what the best method is to create the bends in these brackets? (i am not a fabricator so just trying to work out what I will need
to do for each step).

Wishbone Brackets
If you want brackets with 44mm internal width the easiest method is to use some 50x50x3 RHS and remove the wall with the weld seam in it. No bending
necessary. You will get consistantly accurate brackets with the minimum of effort.

I'd agree with Mal, either that or buy the brackets. It's just too hard work and too hard to get correct doing them individually.
Drill the holes before you remove the excess 'face' though... keeps the hole parallel!

would it not be better to go with channel or U section steel, thats what i was thinking of useing

Nope, not really...nothing of thin enough material is readily available...plus most channels (in steel at least) have tapered sides (on the inside)
which is very undesirable.

They have sorted that one now Alan.
What used to be RSC (rolled steel channel) is now PFC (parallel face channel).
Saves using taper washers when bolting together. They used to drive me

I think I will just buy the brackets along with the wishbones and uprights. Anything else going to be a major pain to fabricate myself that I may
aswell just buy (dont say the whole car! ha)?

The brackets are only £1.45 from locostparts.net so I think I'll go down that route. Not sure whether I should be going for 1/2" UNF,
7/16" UNF or M12 as the book doesnt make this clear?? They also do the upper and lower wishbones etc.. Anyone know what the quality is like?
