Steel Suppliers in and around Maidenhead?

Hi Guys,

I really hope that someone can help here because it seems a friendly place with lots of advice being given; I am doing a little research while I wait to get the new Haynes Roadster book and was wondering if anyone has any personal recommendations for steel suppliers in or around my area, I have seen a couple in the yellow pages, but I like to try to get recommendations if possible. It certainly looks like the new book has moved the game on quite a bit from the RC book, so this has given me the confidence (from the pdf's I've seen) to get going with my own build!!

Any help gratefully received,

Stewart.

There are 2 or 3 in Reading - Berkshire Metals in Tilehurst (small quantities and all sorts but not necessarily cheap) and Goodmans in Cardiff Road (quite big and not really geared to small quantities although in fairness they will always let you have a scrounge through their waste skip for tea-money (bits of metal for tea-money not that they put tea-money in the skip - oh never mind just read on!). Their are probably still quite a few small fabricators on the Cordwallis Estate in M/head and must be someone on the Trading Estate in Slough. Good luck, Pewe

Thanks for the help mate, the suppliers don't have to be the cheapest (although it would be nice) just that they are happy enough to deal with the small(ish) amounts that I will be likely to need.

Once again, thanks for the input!
