Using a Land Rover Chassis as a Locost?
After my recent fire and losing 2 Locost chassis i was wondering if i could use a Land Rover 90 Defender Chassis instead. I know it would need a bit
of work and be bigger than a standard locost but i'm sure i could do it. I still have an escort back axle and the 5 link bars and brackets so
the back end is not a problem but i'm not sure about the wishbones. I still have cortina uprights so i will need to use them but will i be able
to use standard locost wishbones with new mounting points made up? Engine wise: I have a 1300 crossflow and was wondering how to increase the torque
to cope with the extra weight? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as having lost so much in the fire money is a bit tight and i can
get the Land Rover chassis free.
Thanks
Ronnie

Is that so that if your garage is fired again the landrover chassis will stand up to the heat!
I think its a bad idea, it will be too bulky and cumbersome and will ultimatley detract from the driving experience you are trying to create.
If you want to ride round in a LR chassis then driver a LR.
All IMO of course.
