engine mounts, todays work
following earliers little mishap with my shelf i finally cracked on with my engine mounts hoping to have them made today so i can weld them to the
chassis tomorrow and get the engine sitting in it by itself.
So have several hours of mocking up, cutting and welding here they are.
so what do you guys think?
all comments welcome

they're very different to mine (as is the chassis) so i can't really commment, but what thickness is that metal? like i say, i'm no

oh yeah, 3mm should be fine. its just because i'm not familiar with how big they are, eg if they were 2 ft wide, they'd look like they
were made of tin foil
its just they're bigger than i thought they were

ye they are quite big but then hopefully it will provide plenty of support, unfortunatly wen trying to test fit with engine it seems my measurements
were a little bit out! But no worries i just have to chop out one of the chassis rails and relocate and add one more support bar and it should be
gold
thats tomorrow sorted for me!

They look like a pair of action man bodybags.

If it were me, I'd rather leave in a chassis leg and change the engine mount..........

the chassis leg im moving is one thats only in place to support the weight of the enginem, and it was just slighty out of place when i first put it
in, its not a main member so will not affect stiffness of the chassis my moving it in a bit.

i would change the mount also...
and not the chasis...
in the end its less work to cut and reweld 5 plates then to redo a chasis job...
Tks

too late, plus all i had to do was grind off two tack welds holding the chassis member in place and shift about 10mm, worked a treat
Plus my mind was set on getting the mounts done so fully welded up before test fitting! was stupid of me as they didnt fit but this mornings owrk soon
got it rectified and the engine is sitting nicely in its place!
