now I'm concerned about my rear end protection - sounds like I might need to get something from the chemist...
my brother rear-ended a sheep at 120 kph - absolutely munted the front of his van

I have been driving for 35 years and in that time have been involved in a few collisions. 4 were rear enders while I was stationary in trafffic. 1 was
loss of control while avoiding an animal resulting in a spin, damage at both ends against the armco the other was leaving the road and rolling into a
ditch as the road was a sheet of ice.
Given the circumstances of these collisions I would say the most likely accident I would have in the locost is getting belted in the rear. From a
safety point of view there is not much rear protection on offer but a high back seat looks like a good idea to reduce whiplash injuries. Maybe
sticking a spare wheel on the back is a good idea after all?

you've gotta love em. there's great performance gains to be had from either:
a) hanging a great big bit of poorly designed tat from your roof to increase the drag a bit
or
b) in the unlikely event it produces any downforce, shoving down on the back and lifting the (front) driving wheels off the floor.
inspired!
