Seatbelt ribs...

I am building a ron champion 'book' chassis for racing and I was just about to cut the ribs for the seatbelt locations when i thought I would check to see what other people do.

I am referring to the outer ones where the trailing arms mount.

Is it best to put the ribs in-between the suspension mount and the internal skin or on the inside of the chassis?

I hope this makes sense!!

Pictures would help.

Thanks,

Dan

Although ours is a road car, we made a point of going over the top a bit with the harness fixings. We mounted our outer harness fixings between the top and bottom rear trailing arm mounts. There is a shot in my photo archieve with the title of outer harness mount,( that the title of the colunm i nthe middle ). It is too bit to post here and cannot get it back to resize.
I drilled and taped a block of metal, fitted a piece of metal between the top and bottom arm mounts and made the harness block fit in between to tie it all together after hearing reports of the sus brackets cracking. Hope this helps.

I am at the same stage, about to fit the lower harness mounts. I will weld a 3mm triangular plate to the inside of the skin (which is 1.6mm steel plate).

My only concern is wether the bolt head will clear the trailing arms.
