What Colour?

Right, chassis primed, painted and started re-assembly with panelling next on the list. After having several colour change moments (thanks to the boss), we are now going for the blue bodywork, black chassis look (like or lump it ). The problem is, I reckon that the 'bones look reasonable in silver (can't afford to get them chromed) but SWMBO says that it looks cheap . So, now it looks like satin black is the order of the day.

I would love you're input guys.

I think silver would look nice
Out of curiosity, what are the bones made of? If they are stainless, i would polish them

As above - tell her it's for her, but that's the best colour combo anyway, and then over the years, when they get peppered with stone chips, road grime etc, it's a piece of peepee to just give them a flick over with more satin black...

Chassis should be light grey, the professional racers use that colour because you can see cracks before they kill you. Any light neutral colour will do, so silver should be ok.

Wishbones made from stainless should be checked weekly for cracks or hung on the wall and replaced by regular steel ones IMO.

I shudder when I see chromed wishbones, not only do most cheap jobs start to pit and rust after an hour on the road, but they again allow cracks to hide under the plating. Really cheap ones will rust under the plate and it'll peel off in sheets.

Black.... Its universal and will go with almost any combination of body colours.

Wot iank ^ said - light grey or light blue - so any stress cracks will show up (but of course the welding was all perfic so there won't be any - will there?)
Cheers, Pewe
