I think a full kit westfield has to be pretty simple.

I read that robin hood are now doing a similar comprensive kit which might make for an easy build?

I think knowing EVERYTHING will just bolt right on will take a lot of the uncounted time and costs out of a build (hunting for parts, suppliers, p&p, petrol etc.)

Not sure that's the case with the Robin Hood - you have to make everything fit whereas the westfield should be a bolt it together exercise

The ultimate bolt together kit is obviously the caterham.

As a general rule, the more you money spend the less time you have to spend making stuff fit.

Shudder!

Wouldn't touch it with yours. Some (or a lot according to some posters here) of the extras are utter pap! So cheap they have to be binned and replacements bought from the start.

Not a lot of point buying the kit if you have to throw half away and start again!

Cheers,
James

sorry folks - westfield was my point, the RH was thrown in as a cheaper option that I thought of as I typed. On reflection I too have heard mixed reports on quality and the build manual is meant to be a little creative.

caterham or westfield for having it all ready with just bolt on bits or for their comprehensive manuals. As for everything else i think they are basically the same where you work it out and then come on here to find out where youve gone wrong engine choice will obviously have a fair impact aswell

I don't know what the kit price difference is between the usual suspects, but if it was within a grand or two, and if I was in the market now, I'd go Westfield. Massive difference in workload between a westy and a Tiger - but I suppose it's about what you want from the project.

The Robin Hood Zero is a much much better kit to build than any Robin Hood before, now comes with Gaz shocks.
But you pays your money etc.
Zero is now as easy as an MK to build.

I built an indy and if i was going to do another kit would do another indy
in a flash.I found it very easy to build
and the few problems i had were resolved quickly with a call to MK.

I've just finished building an Indy but when I get round to building another, it'll be an older caterham and convert to bike engine - avoiding all IVA and emissions test requirements...
