How high is your scuttle

Hi!

Just wanted to know - how high is hour scuttle and how high over top rails is nosecone? Trying to hide my engine somehow, but it's BIG - some 300 mm over top rails. Perhaps will have to modify inlet mainfold.
Thanx for info,
Janis

Hi, im not at home at the mo to measure mine now, but its from a luego velocity which fits a book chassis but is about 2 or 3" taller than standard to fit the taller engines in. Hope this helps you.

From memory (never been that great ) the Book dimensions give you 8ins at the fron of the engine bay and 10ins at the back.

Sounds like you have the same problem as me, my Vx engine (keeping the injection) is too high by 1/2in for the book dimetion, so I have purchases luego velocity bodywork to get the extra two inchs and I'm raising the engine up another inch (now I have the bodywork room) to gain that bit more road clearence.

Well, thanx for info. But it seems that I'll have to make my own nosecone and scuttle, or just leave upper part of engine out ))
Luego thingies could fit, I'll be very pleased if you can give me correct dimmensions.
Thanxs a lot!!!
Janis
PS. Maybe somebody has CAD drawings of nosecone and scuttle?

nosecone drawings

Check with George Cushibg for drawings of the nosecone. They are on his web site. I don't have the address here at the moment though.
