Quaife ATB - which oil?
As per the title guys....
Need to get some oil for my LSD. I have heard that the quaife ATB uses 'normal' diff oil.
Any advice ?
Thanks, Mark

Ask quaife. They are usually pretty helpful
I think they take std oil too, but would you risk it on a £600 diff?

David,
Their website quotes 'SYN 75W 90' synthetic.
I wanted it today and I only have Halfords as an option really. I will go have a look...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

It is just normal diff oil as the limited slip action is provided by helical gearing etc and not special oil (like in a vLSD - v for viscous).
I just put the normal smelly stuff in.
Motul Hypoid something or other, something like this:
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-973-fuchs-titan-gear-syn-75w-90-semi-synthetic-driveline-oil.aspx
But just bought it from my local GSF motor factors. Its about £6 or £7 quid a litre. Supposedly you need 900ml IIRC but in the end I needed a little
bit more. You need to make your own kinda dip stick out of a bent bit of wire.

I used red line 75w90 (API GL-5) in my live axle with quaiffe atb, as said no need for lsd specific oil. Spoke to the guys at opie oils, really
helpful...
