eBay - Paying Paypal fees

I've just one an item on eBay and the seller now tells me I have to pay 4% Paypal fees - that wasn't in the advert and I thought eBay had outlawed that?

He also wants 5 - 6 days (after payment has cleared) to send via Parcelforce 48!

I don't want to lose the item so not sure what to do.

Any thoughts?

Wyn

tell em to spin! Even if it would still be cheaper than elsewhere - its the principle.

As an ebay seller I would not dare ask you do do that.

Can you not get the item anywhere else ?

If I asked that of a buyer I would expect.

1) to be reported to ebay and at minimum have my account suspended for a month.

2) receive a big red neg.

Sorry as above tell him to spin and report it either before or after the neg.

How are they asking for this? I'd just pay the Ebay invoice, then if they ask for the fees seperately tell them you have a contract with them which doesn't include you paying their fees and if they don't send the stuff you'll do 'em via Ebay and take 'em to the small claims court for wasting your time...

He's got 100% feedback and appears genuine. I just don't like people trying to tag on extra costs after! It's only a couple of quid but I've paid over the odds anyway!

Has he got any other items you could link us to so we can ask him a question like "is this the total cost ?"

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Really simple.............report him to ebay.
It is against ebay rules to charge extra for fees.
They will give him a rap on the knuckles and he will either have to comply or cancel the auction.

I've recently bought a cd on ebay for £4.51 which I paid straight away, the ad said postage free but they now want £9.50 for postage. I told them I was not paying and am waiting a response.

Just had an email saying he's posted the bits!

Maybe he's on here :-)

Link to item and I know I paid too much! My next post will be about how to clean bare Webbers!

The bits all turned up today - nicely packed and pretty quick so I guess I didn't need to pay the Paypal fees! :-)
