AVO adjustable coilovers

Hi
I am rebuilding a luego locost it has AVO adjustable coilovers and 2 1/4" springs and Wide-track front wishbones and track rod extensions from MK Sportscars, But it seems very low on the front is this the normal combination? If so i have a problem because my Blackbird sump is go to last about 100 yards!

You can raise the front ride height by winding the spring platform up the shock body.
Normal ride height is about 100mm measrued just in front of the front wishbone between underside of chassis and floor.

Have you tried winding the spring seats up? in your photos it looks as if they are set to the lowest setting. If thet are still to low then maybe the dampers are to short or springs to soft.

looking at your photo's you engine cradle stop's at 1 of the engine mount's.

I'm no expert but I would be happier having that support going all the way to the chasis rail to give it a little extra strength.

As I say I'm no expert just some thing I noticed that is different to how mine is, I have a ZX9R so there maybe a reason for it being that way and different to mine.

Just to add to that (if that is the cradle you are going to use) - I'm not saying that you would crash and die horribly, but I would not get in that car as a driver or a pax if you use that cradle...

Sorry to be blunt!

are the shocks the correct length ?? look like they may be a bit short.

I agree with the cradle it doesn't appear substantial

I agree with Steve and YQUSTA the craddle dont look like it will last it needs to be as rigid and secure as possible the way its sitting at the moment its gonna twist and the weld will crack on the left mounts(as your looking at the pic) and the engine will drop out!!
this is how i`ve mounted mine

So there's some bolts through the box section? I hope that some form of crush tube has been fitted. What is that flap for? I can see the engine upper engine mount, with something bolted to the side of it, then this is bolted to a flap of plate welded onto the box without any additional bracing? How is this better than the poor cradle that is being demonised? At least the rear mount goes from one side to the other. Extend the front tube of the cradle all the way across for additional strength, and wind up the shockers.

DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!

There are four of triangular "flap" pieces on the Aries; two either side. The cradles that you buy from Aries have matching plates on either end and pass the full width fore and aft of the engine. The triangular plates are actually welded to the inside face of the box section, not just to the top so there is actually a reasonable amount of weld and support other than that little bit you can see. I am only commenting on the triangular plates, not the rest of the mounting.

Hi Thanks for all of your replies and concerns , this is how i bought the car there have been many strange bits on the car i have noticed as i have been stripping it down one of which is the cradle which needs lots of work to get it right (may start again with it?) don't know why the front of the cradle was cut short maybe due to it coming from another car. the lower mount is missing as well due to the clutch being in the way.
I've got lots to learn and lot to do but hopefully I'll get there???????
Thanks
Wayne
