Quick chassis question.
Hi all, my first post. I am just looking through the Ron Champion book and am very keen on what's possible and have seen a great deal on this
forum.
Still at the very early stages of researching this kind of thing and I am currently creating a 3d structure of the chassis.
My query is that on page 42 of the second edition the length of D1 and F1 form a kink, where as the parellel beam J1 is a straight beam.
This would mean that the H at the end of C would not be perpendicular, or J1 would have to be slightly bent.
Any thoughts or comments, or just let me know if its just my imagination.
Many thanks guys and can't wait to get started.

There are some mistakes in both of the Champion books (less in the second).
Check out the corrected drawings here

Also consider the New Haynes Roadster as well. Basically that and the Mc Sorley (sevenesque.com) are sorted versions of Rons Book. Bear in mind that
Rons book is approx 20 years old. Mk1 and 2 Escorts are now collectors items and not scrappers!
Even Sierra's are getting scarce (Less than 2000 on the road now)
The old adage of measure ten times and cut once, applies even in the planning stage. Think it all through carefully first.
Ask questions on here, and then decide.
Remember that the Book talks of SVA, its now an IVA, and is different to the SVA in some aspects, which are better to build in from the begingin
rather than modify to meet the regs later etc etc.
Above all have fun at all stages, its worth it when you get it on the road.
Also can you put your approximate location in your profile, it often helps when people are offering help, or you are advertising for parts etc etc.
Good luck with your build. At least you have started on the right website
EDIT:
PS... Welcome to the Madhouse!!
