WELD ON TANK FITTINGS

Good evening Gents,

Im having a fuel tank made at the moment but I cant find anybody who sells weld on tank fitings.

The tank being made from stainless so the fittings need to be stainless too.

Alternativly to weld on fittings I could get threaded elbows like the ones that are used on fuel pumps.

I need 2x90 degree elbows - one 10mm inside diameter & the other 8mm.

Thanks in advance for the help

Due to the weight and the thin material used, fuel tanks are usually held by straps.

Welded tabs are realy a no go area as they can crack with fatigue.

It's more fittings for the pipes is it not rather than brackets to bolts it to the car with?

Look for industrial suppliers of dairy fittings, or any pipe fittings place that does stainless. You can weld on ordinary hosetails or threaded nipples. You can cut them to length first if necessary

You can do it quickly. You can do it cheap. You can do it right. – Pick any two.

Whatever you do, don't use threaded fasteners that have a nut on the back; depending how the tank's constructed, it'll put you in a spot.

Eventually the fitting will come loose, and once that happens you're done for. The nut on the inside will happily spin forever as you drive yourself mad...
