true but more for getting the drivers weight lower in the car for better handling really I would have thought

Seen similar floorpans in MG Midgets (though under the current interpretation of the rules they would probably require an IVA these days if you used
them)

I actually thought about fitting something like that but didn't fancy the lowest thing on the car being my seat....

If you've got large feet/long legs a smaller pan of the same design under the pedals should work nicely.

I had to do that floor pan mod to my car - I needed every inch of headroom I could get. The lowest thing on the car is indeed my ar$e ..... which
tends to make you regard speed bumps with a special respect

Very common in beetle based kit cars, particularly the nova (sterling?) that seemed to have been designed for someone sub 5 feet....
