Brake Pipe Connector at Bulkhead
Hi Guys,
Forgive the ignorance on this one......
I have bent and fitted most of the brake pipes (copper ones) up to the point where I have planned to fit my brake bulkhead plates.
Should I be fitting the the Copper pipe with a female union and then connecting that to a male/male bulk head connector ....as sold by car builders
solutions.
 
Description
I assume the small male end of that connector is the Copper brake side and the longer male is for a femal flexi???
I`m sure thats as clear as mud.

Usually flexis are male ends, like the long threaded bit on your connector there. so if you are connecting to a flexi say at the front side panel then
fix the flexi to the side pane with the nut as shown in your pic and then use a female nut with the copper to join to the flexi.
If you are talking copper to copper through the bulkhead then use that with 2 female nuts.

Depends on whether you are using braided hoses or standard rubber flexis?
Rubber flexis usually have some kind of bulkhead attachment built in, either and external thread or a circlip groove. If using these you don't
need a bulkhead fitting, you just need to make the bracket to suit the flexi. The end of the flexi can be either male or female so you need to make
the end of the pipe to suit.
If you are using braided hoses then you need a bulkhead fitting as shown and then get the hose made with a female.

Ahhh that makes more sense.
Ok so I can have my braided hose made with male ends which goes through my bracket/bulkead, then the nut keeps that on from the opposite side,
.....then my female union (copper pipe) goes on to that?
