Personal Q Plate

No i'm not asking THAT question again....!

But i have seen a few cars that have Q plates that have ended up with something relating to their cars...
Best example is a raw striker that had the plate something like: Q 123 RAW

Do you reckon that RAW themselves sweet-talked the DVLA for that or do you think it's in the realms of us mere mortals to be able to influence the plate when they assign it?

I was given a choice of half a dozen or so Q plates when I went to the DVLA office, all using the local suffix range. I was told that was that and no I couldn't influence or choose anything other than those in front of me.

I made a joke along the lines of "as long as it does spell ~$% ( I can't rememebr the exact word i used, I don't really mind". You can imagine the reaction of the member of staff. They didn't share the joke.....

Was the Striker you saw on the road or on show?

Rich

Are Q's still following the old format rather than the new?

They would surely have to follow the old format, since the Q is the age identifier (or rather lack of age in this case) and the new format uses numbers.
