Locost Robin Hood from Poland
Hello to all.
First I want to thanks for all info i've found on this forum.
It was very helpfull.
After one year of building and fighting with this freaky chassis RH2B ,have decided to change front suspension and make it much better and more
safety.
Some info about kit
Chassis Robin Hood 2B but not original from uk.
Frame was made by the guy who said he is a perfectionist at this.
Crap he was not for god sake!!!
As u can see front top wishbone is not the same as in originall Robin
I made about 500 pics and I'm not going to show you how awful and full of problems my build was.
I pick best for u.
Now the car passed the IVA ( good word i hope) and now it is the time to make it all perfect.
Donor car Sierra 2.0 DOHC engine
Gearbox Mt 75
Slip reardiff
Steering rack fiat 126 bis
Hubs sierra
rear suspension sierra with golf mk2 coilovers
Nice watching !

Good work.
You need to put it on a diet now and lose that massive beam suspension at the rear.
"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

Yeah I know.
But much better will be to buy a new frame than make it that rear suspension lighter.

Hi, nice car, and some very good modifications to the 2b chassis. Did you make the rear arches made to your design? You will have had to cover the
outer part of the rear beam!

Propshaft
Hi Darek,
Very impressive work on your vehicle. However, I have 1 major criticism. In such a small car as a "Seven"-type, there is no real need for
a 2-piece propshaft. It is a potential hazard, as centre bearing mounts have been known to let go. Please ensure that your centre bearing chassis
fixing is secure, and search on forum here for prop catchers.
Here is a reference :-http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=186572

To Grimsdale
Rear arches i made straight cause i cut out top of the corners at the back and made them in 90 degrees so i dont need RH2B rear arches.
pic of arches and rear fenders not cut yet (marker)
To Scootz
Seats were made by my friend the same guy made nosecone bonnet and rest of the laminated body.
http://www.lotus7.pl/forum/1-vt1649.html?start=0
take a look next pages of that topic.
Thats his car and seats inside ,now are mine.
He had now time so sell it for me pair of them.
Driver one is adjustable
on the 3rd pic u can see my Locost on the car lorry after completing the body at his garage.
It took a week to make it and compare it to the frame from sizes of haynes actually.
To Dick Axtell
I made 2 pieces shaft because rear diff is lower than exitshaft from gearbox.
Dont ask me why ?!
I can change it by push it the diff more inside up but oh god next thing to fix it in this frame.
Propshaft was made with precission by the company which is know how to do it.
so i dont have to be afraid of.
To Snapper
Yeah i found it but this forum was much better in my opinion.
fuel pump holder

Hi all
Some new pics of work.
After looking at the original chassis RH2B I figure it out that my tunnel is made wrong so I decided to get this sh*t out.
Decide to make a straight tunnel like in Haynes book.
I t is much easier to cover it and to fix a handbrake in it.
old one.
Flywheel after diet just came today afternoon
4,5 kg (was 13,5 )
Gearbox side
Engine side
.....more coming soon

Super Flywheel
Hi Darek,
What a striking design of flywheel! And the machining looks excellent, (from your photos). Congratulations on an impressive build.
Re - Your propshaft. Thanks for your clarification, and the diff position mention. With a live axle version like mine, I didn't encounter any
positional probs. Which only goes to show that you'll always learn something on this site.

You 're right.
I m the type of person that dont know word "It can't be done"
It was my dream to made this kind of car , and dreams come true.
This week front top and bottom wishbones will come so I can measure front suspension and make a jig for it and put this in to that blo*dy frame.
Still thinking , searching on the net , what kind of dash and interior i like to be in my car.
Im kind a like the caterham gauges and style of dash.
To Dick Axtell
Here you have a pic line of propshaft according to that post it seems i made it ok.
More comming soon...

Just stick some gripper tape on it or bolt a piece of chequer plate with countersunk screws, nobody will see it down in the footwell.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
