How to: Sierra diff sealant change manual
Welcome.
I can't find like this one so stick it where it should be please.thx
Most of us like I build on the differential of the Ford Sierra and Scorpio , LSD or without throw manual , regarding the exchange of sealants
driveshaft and pinion flange .
You will need:
- Socket Torx 45
- Wrench or socket 24
- Screwdriver or punch
- Rubber mallet and plain
- Universal Puller
- wooden block to break flange sealants punching attack and if we do not have a puller
- metal bushings of the same width as replacements sealants or something similar.
- Oil pan
We begin by washing the diff with dirt.
drained oil.
Unscrew the pinion flanges key 24 and nailing it or take off with the turnbuckle universal
We remove old sealant
Unscrew the back cover for removal of security driveshaft flanges (version with bolt-on axle shafts )
To remove the flanges have to pull the axle shafts security segger
pull flanges .
We remove old sealant was remembering how deeply embedded ( pic or should do to make measurements )
Clean the surface and remove burrs if any arose when removing sealant
New sealant assemble slowly and sensitively .
want to use the old seal to drive the new
Sticks evenly on the outer portion of the packer
We measure whether we agree distance or sitting flat on its place as the old one
Between the sealing lip and the cover DUST give grease .
In the case of CORTECO is applied at the factory.
On the pinion flange should do before inserting the sealant
Grease the surface of the work on the flanges
Insert them carefully turning the flanges so as not to damage the seal .
Apply in reverse.
Diff ready for pouring the oil.
and mounting in frame.
If something is missed , please add .

How much torque to be applied on each bolt when re-assembly?

I can;t find how much but
40 Nm is for the oil level screw
.... so 60Nm is enough i think
100 Nm is for tire bolt
