Grp rear end and rear chassis
Hi all,
I have been looking at body work and have seen on some sites that for the grp rear end to fit the haynes roadster you have to remove the rear tub
round tubing for it to fit, but then how do you attach the rear roll bar supports? And what would protect the petrol tank if your hit up the rear? Any
advice would be greatly appreciated as I am in the process of building the chassis, thank you.

Fibre glass bodywork is supplied in grey, all Fibre glass bodywork is made from 450gsm matting and gives the strength and rigidity required for this
type of car. The rear curved rails must be removed to fit this panel.

I think the curved rail referred to is the top one, not the bottom. At least this is what I had to remove on my MK.
You have to leave around 50mm of the top one to support the back panel.

If the roll pbar supports attach to the top rear tub there more for show
My MK chassis don't come with the top tube at all.

I think thats more for when your forming the alloy rear panel that is less common these days

With the haynes roadster the seat belt anchorage points are on the roll bar, then it has supports that go to the bar that has to be removed such as
this:
And this is what the rear tub should look like:
So what would be the best way to support the roll bar with that top bar removed? Are the seat belt mounts different on an mk?

Just saw your last post, that looks like a good way to get round the issue, I'll put supports to the bottom rail, I could probably also fit a
bigger fuel tank then, thank you!
