Help please
So i have a hillman imp with a goosed engine and crash damaged front end...
I plan to get a full 6 point weld in cage, add some pillar tags and some bits and bobs. Then cut the front off and use a kit car front end with a
single piece fibreglass mould over it. Width isnt an issue as it will be wide arch.
I want a front mounted c20let - probably an r25 or r28 gearbox for 300bhp.
What donor car would be good, or am i better with single bits, id obviously need a rear diff capable of that?
I do like the idea of sierra and beefing the type 9 up a bit..
I need a plan, i have the haynes book but dont want to use the re hashed front suspension..
So im looking for plans for a c20let frame (pref in tube not box) designed to use coilovers - list of donor car bits...
And really any help

I'm not sure a donor exists with the C20LET and a rwd gearbox so a single donor is out.
I'm sure that you will need to just source the bits you need separately from whichever manufacturer is best suited to get the best design for
your car.
As for plans, as you are not following a tried and tested route, you will probably struggle to find any and you will need to work it out for your
self.
Sounds like an interesting project though - keep us posted

No, your right, a donor doesnt exist, i would buy the let and box seperate...
But maybe still worth getting a sierra for the diff and hubs ect?
I know there wont be a specific plan, i just wanted a decent front end set up - then i could adapt it to fit
Need a new haynes roadster book too as mine is escort based

I would find the front end that has the nearest dimensions to what you need and the Haynes is good a starting point as any, Midlana could be better
still or even the terrapin unless you want and start to design your own from scratch. I know I couldn't.

Google thinks a sierra haynes is 1720 wide, a standard imp is 1530 but mine will have this kit on (below) making it 10 cm wide a side.... Seems the
perfect choice but maybe make some from tube not box section - to match the cage?
And the actual panels i have
Anyone know why my pics dont work?
