Kit car with slk230k engine?
Hi everyone! I've been looking to get a kit car for a long time. Looks like I might be able to buy one pretty soon but it will be more of a
project rather than expensive one. I'd be looking for something thats already been build and registered but need some work to it. I was really
thinking about putting some more powerful engine rather than tuning old pinto. As stupid as it may sound How hard would it be to fit, say Merc slk230k
engine into a kit car? Also which chassis would be best etc.?
Regards, Rob.

I think the gearbox size would be prohibitive. Did they ever do a manual ? I don't think an automatic would suit a 7.
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

why the SLK engine? There are lots of choices for 'different' and 'more powerful'
definitely can't see an auto box being any good ever!
but as long as it physically fits, you'd probably want to take ignition, ecu and wiring harness from the donor car (carefully!) and transplant
the lot into the kit car

My mother had a CLK230k with a 6spd manual box.
