either steering wheel bulkhead is very high or the rollbar is very low, have you checked what the visibility fom the cockpit is going to be like when
seated? apart from that looks like its coming along well..

This might seem a silly question (or 2)but ....
the opening at the top seems rather small, can you climb in?
How are you going to stop your head getting to know the side rails in a very intimate manner when corning hard / if you have a bump?

oh no, it's just morphed outside the car lol.
Not trying ot pick holes, just offer constructive comments, the shock angles looks slightly shallow, presumably the spring rates will need to be quite
high to be effective? Also probably not he final wheels, but I'd guess smaller wheels (diameter, not width) would help both ride height, overall
and unsprung weight.

you know, i love this forum. So many people with so much knowledge..... its just great
anyway, just remembered something from the tv the other night about car crashes. Until recently (1980's?) lots of people where loosing the
ankles in formula 1 type car crashes. Basically the problem was the feet extending infront of the line between the front wheels. In a crash there
wasn't a lot to absorb the inpact. I seem to remember a quote like at 30mph the resultant shock the drivers feet where taking was like jumping
off a 45 foot building!

That looks like a tough chassis - I look forward to seeing it as it progresses!

Awsome
Cita, thanks for the updates. I happen to like the stance, where only his head will pop up. Certainly will be a fun car to drive.

You may get an odd scrutineer who will not like the sidebars at head height. They will not let you compete on safety grounds, seen it before, it can
be disheartening. Their word is final.
I also agree (sorry) regarding feet in front of wheel line. I've seen two competition accidents now, both resulting in broken legs/ankles.
It's one of the reasons for the carbon fibre honeycomb fronts on single seaters.
Love the design though.
I'm looking for a new project and I'm considering a bike/trike. Bike front and engine, rear axle type. Unfortunately I'm not all
that clued up on bikes.

Thanks for the comments guys!
I'll try to answer some questions.
first-of course i can get in the car aldo it takes a (very) little effort. The gap in the front of the cockpit is much wider than at the rear
bulkhead.
The side bars are just above shoulder hight and maby i have to raise the roll hoop just a little but my head will deff. not hit the side bars in a
crash unless my neck is broken and my head will make a 90° bend sideways but in that case ...it wont matter i guess
My feet will be in the cockpit box which ends approx at the shocks. The triangular structure in front is to protect my feet.
The rear wisbones...they are not there cause i still dont know what type of rear axle to use.
I will try to make a pic with me in the car so you can have an idea about size and protection of the cockpit.

looks good to me, but i'm gonna agree with the others on the feet/front end.
If (or when) you do crash this thing, you are going to be the crumple zone and i'd worry that you'd do some pretty serious damage to
yourself in such a situation.
strength and stiffness is good where it's needed, but weak spots are essential for your survival when the brown stuff hits the fan.

ok, i'm no expert but ....... from your previous comments i'd remove the very first lot of triangulation - let it crumple, its not doing
anything to the suspension strength. The second lot of triangulation that meets the first on the front, take that to the sides, it can them help
transfer the forces from the shock / wheel.
Otherwise ...... i like it. I've been musing over a single seater for ages (still haven't completed the locost yet!) and your design looks
pretty neat!

Tried to download your avi, I am missing a codec, any ideas which one?
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

I dont think so
With no lights-indicators-cycle wings-horn-reverse light etc... etc... etc...
It's just a fun project and hopefully will be used some day to do some hillclimbing.
I'm still way under the 250£ mark of "Uncle Ron" though
