Firewall / Tunnel mod
Hi all,
I have a bit of a problem with gearbox fitment at the moment and was considering doing some mods to the firewall to better accomodate the
bellhousing and clutch lever.
I was thinking of removing the 2 vertical members on either side of the gearbox (H tubes) and replacing them with a v-shaped arrangment. This will
allow the clutch lever some more movement and will let me push the gearbox back by about 50mm. Currently it's sticking out from the firewall by
over 100mm and I'm worried that the engine will be too far forward (if it fits at all, that is).
Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim
btw - The drawing is a bit misleading; all the chassis members are 1" sq.

if its judt the clutch lever thats the problem, convert to hydraulic and fit a concentric clave cylinder. This way everything is inside the
bellhousing
