bits and pieces
Hi,
I've just bought myself a Westfield part-built chassis (sorry folks), and have a few questions -
anyone know where I can get a rivnut gun and rivnuts to go with it?? Can't seem to find one in Screwfix, or MachineMart.
what size bolts and nuts do I need to bolt bodypanels etc to the chassis?
the car has a 1600cc xflow engine, with standard down-draught carb. If I replace this with twin side-draught webers and new manifold, will this
interfere with the distributor which is positioned just below?
Take pity on a Westfield owner, I know it doesn't exactly fit the ethos of Locost, but I bought the car pretty cheap, so you could say it fits...!

Rivnuts and their applicators are too specialised for the places you mention. The first place to try is your local 'bolt and nut ' or 'industrial
fixings' stockists (yellow pages)
For westfeild info you should also try the club website forum

As regards distributor/carb clearance, I've bought a pair of DCOE's with a manifold, and it fits, there's not a lot of clearance, but there's
enough. Obviously different dizzys and manifolds my not clear. FYI my dizzy is a breakerless blue top one and god knows who made my manifold, but it
does slope upwards away from the dizzy.

Rivnut Tool & Fixings
If it is any help we use rivnuts at work and the rivet pliers are of the King Klik make, very strong industrial type kit. They are manufactured and
sold by Harmsworth and Towneley Ltd based in Todmorden, Lancashire, together with a very comprehensive range of all types of rivnuts. Good company to
deal with. Not sure about prices.
Their website is at;
