Sump guard - attachment

Chaps,

Gonna make a sump guard over the weekend and would appresh any advice on attachment. Don't want to weld the car, nor really bolt to chassis rails, so am left with clamping in place.

Does this sound ok?

If by clamping you mean a system of 'U' shaped clamps over the chassis rails then there would be no problem as long as they are mounted in positions to prevent the guard moving on impact.

Thats exactly what I mean, though I do have two engine mounting plates (5mm) a side (one for the Sierra engine which was binned, and one fro current motor) so I'll build in further security with a bolt or two though them.

Cheers very much
