Errors in book etc

I'm about to start making my chassis, and have ben reading these posts as often as I can, and everytime I'm here I seem to read more about whats wrong with building the chassis. The book one is wrong so I downloaded another one, which apparently contains an error also. Several improvements are also suggested by users of the forum. To make things easier is there anyone willing to make me a list of EVERYTHING additional that I should know/do before starting my chassis. This would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

There r a few errors in the book but none caused me a problem, once the basic chassis is togethor, by this i mean btm and top rails check what length it says each bar is in book but also measure it with a tape on your car B4 u cut it, i had no problems doing it this way at all,

I would not cut all the lengths B4 u start, 1 at a time, may take a little longer but at least your don't find yourself trying to fill gaps with weld ect......IMO you can only do it that way if you have a jig in wich to build your chassis....

hope it helps u a little, Jon

you'l B ok, if the book says 300mm and you measure 350mm u know which to do ?

just apply a little common sense and you will soon have a chassis to be proud off, just remember the "book" aint gospel, just use it as a guide.......enjoy your build and look forward to seeing the finished article at a show or meeting some time....

learn at a very early stage that the book is a guide and NOT a set of plans.

you will learn a lot along the way. good luck.
