Chassis accuracy, opinions please
Today i managed to get the suspension pickup points measured and triangulated.
Basically i put a chalk line down my drive and lined this up to the chassis center line, i then measured from the center line to the center of the
ball joints holes in the wishbones, which i was happy it was spot on equal.
I then did the same with the DeDion at the rear and this was 8mm to the left from being central, so i just need that to move 4mm right to equal it up,
this im assuming i can achieve when i get the pan hard rod fixed up, although i easily managed to pull it to the right enough for it to be equal.
I measured from the center of the hole in the end of dedeion plates to the front centers for the ball joint holes in the wishbones.
Again i was pleased that this was equal both left and right sides.
Next i triangulated these same points, which i had transferred to the floor with a square and sprit level.
I put the triangulation on the floor using the chalk line.
Here is a link to where thy intersect the center line, as you
can see they are a little to the left but once i get the dedeion moved and held in place this should be pretty much spot on, the actual triangulation
measured 5 mm longer on the right, again im assuming it will equal out once the dedeion is held in place.
Overall im very happy that the suspension points will be in a 1-2mm tollerance, i think this is good for the first time of asking, but is this good
enough?
Opinions please.

Sounds pretty damn good to me. Adjustable spring seats are "get out of jail free" cards at the end of the day.....
cheers

If you use a panard rod then the rear axle will move laterally anyway depending on ride height at the rear, this does not affect watts linkages etc
but the axle will still effectively twist on rising bumps.
Why not make this item adjustable with rose joints then you can correct once built.
Here's an interesting link from caterham on the subject.

Mark, Sorry i forgot to mention that i am already have the panhard rod, from GTS, which includes a rose joint at the dedeion end.
That is how i was going to dial in the required amount of adjustment.
Just need to attach it
