Front Wishbone question ?

Would increasing the length of the front wishbones alter/affect bump steer ?

I spent ages working on the rack position for the wishbones I have to give the least deflection but was thinking of making some longer front bones to match the rear track of the capri axle (+4" ) but dont want to go to the trouble if it would alter the work I have done.......

???????????????????????????????

Actually i dont think it will.

Looking in my books the thing that effects bump steer would be moving the pivot points of the bones out of line with the knuckle joint on the rack.

so simply extending the wishbones would have no effect to the position of the bones pivots nor the knuckle joint in the rack.

Make a cardboard model with strips of card for the wishbones and steering arms with drawing pins for the pivots.

Then you can actually see.
