Other plans for cars?

Are there any other plans for cars that are different to the locost? just in case someone wanted to build something different?

I thinkj it is still possible to get plans for the Burlinton Arrow , a 30s style 2 seater it was originally based on a herald chassis but think the plans include drawings for a ford based ladder chassis.
The body work is wood and ally and quality depnds a lot on the builder but i have seen some nicely built ones.

I was thinking more on the lines of a Lola or some other slightly larger sports car.

GT40 replica maybe, didn't like them much before but have come to appreciate them recently.
Would try and do it the Locost way: Buy a GRP tub and build my own chassis. That way also has the benefit of being a decent chassis as opposed to the battleship heavy crap you see at the shows!

And of course the ultimate project.... Mclaren F1 replica.

Cheers,
James

You must be getting old mate!!

Seriously i like the idea of getting hold of a body (ooh er Mrs!) and building a chassis to suit. As you say that way the chassis can be all tubular and light.

Trouble is i can't weld!! But could always learn!!

Weldin's easy. I couldn't the other side of xmas and now i have a nearly complete chassis! Just take your time and learn on offcuts. Was once told to turn stuff up until it blows holes and then turn things back a notch. Should see you about right.

Well I dont know what is the prices on AC Cobra at UK , but Fiber body is 1900euro in Serbia , but I do not know any site that is offering plans for casi... but thinking of redesigning the locost chassis and make a Cobra ... the only thing is that the accessories are expensive (windsheald, miroors, headlamps etc.)
