IRS donors
Hi, with a IRS setup can you use cortina uprights at the front and sierra at the rear??

Yes, if you want to. Just bear in mind an IRS kit like the MK will be provided with front wishbones to suit the sierra uprights, make sure you tell
them you are using cortina ones.
I am using cortina uprights and sierra gear at the back.

I will be using Cortina front uprights, book wishbones, a McSorley +4 chassis and a full width Sierra De dion.
That all adds up to identical track front and rear ( I f£$^ng hope...)

What the difference in setups will I need different rear bones or the same bone but re-positioned?
Hoping to follow plans in Tiger Avon book which uses sierra hubs can I still use.

That's exactly what the Stuart Taylor IRS kit (which is what I am building) uses.
Made to book track width too, rather than sierra track.

You need different bones on the back. Look on my site for IRS and De Dion plans! (Not drawn by me!)

The MNR Vortx RT uses sierra front uprights and the RT+ uses cortina front uprights. Both use the sierra rear end

So I am right in saying if I follow Rorty IRS wishbones dimensions I will be correct for cortina front uprights?
Is the castor angle different between the bones? whats the implication of using the "wrong" bones?

You need different front and rear wishbones...! The rear ones in those plans are correct for sierra running gear at the rear for a book chassis.
If you use book length front wishbones the track will be wider at the rear, but not by much. The offset on the top front wishbone in Ron Champions
book is wrong.
Do a search on here, its been cover hundreds of times...

I have corrected the front wishbone problem from the book, so apart from the extra width at the rear I could use sierra hubs with IRS wishbones?
