Where to buy stainless steel strip
I need to make a new exhaust strap for my new larger silencer. Where can I buy about 700mm of stainless steel strip. RS will sell me two 2m bard for
£26 but will only ship by courier due to the size and they will only deliver when I'm not in.
Where else can I get some?

RS don't sell to non trade at their trade counters. B&Q don't sell anything as nice as stainless steel.
Metal supermarket? What's that then?

What thickness do you need, I've got some off cuts of 1.2mm about 20mm wide and 400-500mm long.

I need a strip 550 or 600mm long by perhaps 25mm wide. Thickness? I don't know. I guess 1 or 2mm would be fine.

I buy all my stainless form a fabrication shop down the road. They specialise in catering equipment and industrial kitchens. I usually speak to the
lads in the workshops and can get off cuts for the price of a pint or two.
A quick Google found these http://www.stainlessdesigns.co.uk/ which may be close to you? Or try Yell.

Look behind the guilotine of any steel fabricators!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Ah, someone else who's done this! Perhaps I'm not so dumb.
