Did anybody actually use the roof for the donor car?

According to the Book, you can use the roof section to panel in the floor of your chassis.

Thinking about doing this - in the true spirit of Locost, but wondered if anybody else has had problems with doing it this way...

Going to use mine, but only to floor either the engine bay, or the back end. Using new 16 swg for the main floor under me bum.

We were going to use the roof but found it wasn't straight and it would bow if used for the floor (in our opinion) so we opted for new.

We did however use it in different area's, all the caps for the ends of the tube are from the roof, so is the panel that sits under the radiator

First car we did, second had a dodgy vinyl roof, so new steel was bought. The bow in the roof actually made it bend less when you got in the car. Mine 'bongs' loudly!

I'm planning to use a van as my donor, so the ribbed roof should stop the "boing" and the bling
