That chassis number wont make any difference at all. You do all that at/near sva time.
As for the book. Get build a sports car for 250 quid. Put a big cross through the title and use that as a basic guide,

hello there, welcome to the forum, I'm quite tempted by the nissan engine for my next one.
no problems with a chassis number, but it is dependant on your local dvla office.
some offices insist on allocating you a vin that they make up, others allow you to make up your own.
the "alternative" route to getting your own VIN recognised is when you apply for your SVA (but I guess you are a while off that yet!) put
your made up VIN number on the SVA application form. when swansea send the paperwork back, there is your VIN in writing from them. must be
legitimate? once passed take the Ministers Approval Certificate (MAC) to the DVLA and they should register the car with the details you have
provided, cause they came from another govt dept, so it MUST be right!

That last picture looks like something out of a horror movie - you know, when someone's had his stomach slashed and all his guts have fallen
out!

Chassis Numbers
Bristol DVLA weren't interested in chassis numbers from the manufacturer. They issued me a VIN number which I had to have made up at a garage
(who signed a certificate to say they had made it) and then inspected the car once I had put the plates on the chassis and body.
Might be worth giving your local office a ring as I dealt with a real jobsworth
until I'd done everything that he wanted, then he was very helpful.
I'd worry more about the SVA as registration is more of a formality.
This is the place for help, as there are dozens of people her who have faced every problem that you could think of.
David that must have been a scary movie!

thats the 2l sr20det, we are using ca18det which is a wee bit smaller. And yes they do fit although i think i might need to modify the ends of the
footwells slightly. But hey
